Our History

From a small unit by the Fremantle shipping port to the large modern premises that we operate out of today, the Cohesion story spans four generations.

1925

Business commenced as Waters Typographic House in Fremantle, WA

Founded in Fremantle in 1925 after World War I, Cohesion began as Waters Typographic House - A small typesetting company, with its focus mainly on printing for local newspapers.

1970

Moves from Fremantle to larger North Fremantle factory

The company grew steadily as a result of the commitment to personal service that was the focus in those early post war years.

1979

Business changed focus from typographic services to self-adhesive labels. Rebranded to Slicker Stickers Pty Ltd

As the need for lead type faced extinction due to technology changes, the company changed direction and quickly recognised the need for stickers and self-adhesive labels. To serve this niche market, Slicker Stickers was created.

1989

Moved from North Fremantle to purpose-built factory in Bibra Lake, WA

Slicker Stickers soon became a respected industry leader with its focus on high levels of customer service and quality standards.

1994

Purchased first flexographic printing press

The company invested in it’s first flexographic printing press, purchasing an American-made 6 colour machine.

2019

Rebranded from Slicker Stickers to Cohesion Labels

Still under the same family ownership, Slicker Stickers rebranded to Cohesion Labels in 2019. With the rebrand came a renewed focus on supplying to three core industries: Healthcare, Food & Beverage, & Industrial.

Moved from Bibra Lake factory to a newer factory in Canning Vale, WA

Due to continued business growth, Cohesion Labels relocated from the Bibra Lake factory to a larger premises in Canning Vale WA

2021

Made a significant investment into a new digital production line

To keep up with increasing demand, Cohesion Labels purchased a new digital printing production line with technology that was first of it’s kind in Australia. The investment effectively doubled the existing production capacity.
